Maritime College celebrated the graduating seniors of the Class of 2020 by hand delivering diplomas and licenses to students personally in their homes. Considering the present circumstances and social distancing protocols that did not give leave for a traditional Commencement Ceremony and degree presentation, College officials set out throughout the tri-state area to personally deliver diplomas and licenses.

In total, 37 degrees and licenses were delivered to graduates who hailed from various areas in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. RADM Michael Alfultis delivered the first degrees to graduates in New York and received cheerful greetings from the graduates and their families. “I was honored to take part in recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments these outstanding graduates who have overcome incredible obstacles to reach this milestone,” said RADM Alfultis. He, in addition to almost 30 faculty members, staff and other College officials, participated in the week-long in person delivery of diplomas.
