Shipping And Logistics

Shipping and Logistics is a 34-credit program that prepares students for advanced positions within the maritime industry, as well as in logistics and supply chain management positions. The program may be completed online, on campus or a blend of the two formats, to make it fit with a variety of schedules and learning preferences.

Students may choose to earn additional certificates in charter parties or supply chain management, as well as a U.S. Coast Guard third mate's unlimited license.

Advanced Certificate in Supply-Chain Management

Job growth in supply chain management has been steadily rising for a decade. Earn this stand-alone certificate and fast-track your career in this growing profession.

You can apply to complete this certificate using the standard Shipping and Logistics application, just make sure to note that you are only interested in the certificate.

Maritime's advanced certificate in supply chain management comprises a 21-credit course of study, or can be completed as part of the Master of Science in Shipping and Logistics.

Chartering Certificate

The chartering certificate may be completed as part of the regular 34-credit master's program or on its own. To earn the certification, you must successfully complete two courses in charter parties: TMGT 8450 Advanced Charter Parties I and TMGT 8460 Advanced Charter Parties II. These courses are offered in cooperation with the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents, the U.S. representative to the Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents.
