Learning Center & Writing Center

Get Help from Peers

Students help each other with free tutoring in a variety of classes at the Learning Center in Heritage Hall and at the Writing Center in the library.

Help is offered via walk-ins or private sessions.

Online Tutoring

Learning Support Services will provide online tutoring for Maritime College students, utilizing three different tutoring service platforms - Discord, GoBoard, and TutorTrac. Students may review the online tutoring guide and access detailed instructions for the online tutoring process below under Resources. Students are encouraged to check the Learning Support Porthole page and Instagram @MaritimeSuccess for detailed updates.

Learning Center 

Learning Center tutors help students understand concepts associated with Business, Engineering, Mathematics, and Science courses. Students have the option of drop-in group tutoring and/or individual 50-minute appointments. Students may view the hours and available appointments for Learning Center tutors via TracCloud.

Writing Center

Writing Center tutors help students understand concepts associated with Navigation and writing-focused courses.  Our writing tutors help brainstorm the assignment outline, write drafts and edit papers. Students have the option of drop-in group tutoring and/or individual 50-minute appointments. Students may view the hours and available appointments for Learning Center tutors via TracCloud.
