On June 20, alumni and friends gathered onboard the TS Empire State VI at Pier 88 in New York City for a special evening alumni event. For the first time in school history, the Empire State VI docked in Manhattan as the Summer Sea Term reached its halfway point. Despite overcast skies and sudden downpours, more than 150 alumni and guests enjoyed reminiscing, making new memories with former classmates and forming new friendships with other graduates. The skies cleared just in time for the FDNY Three Forty Three Marine Division fire rescue boat to put on a spectacular water show enjoyed by all. Pier 88 was the perfect location for guests to take in the amazing sunset views of the Hudson River and New York City skyline. As the Summer Sea Term continues, the Empire State VI will make its way to Baltimore, Maryland on July 6, where the final alumni reception of the summer will be held. Cadets will then embark on a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to Reykjavik, Iceland and return to the College in early August.
