Ship Departure Marquee 2022
Date

The Training Ship Empire State VI will depart for its final voyage (75-days) on Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m.

One of the most exciting and highly anticipated events on campus is the annual departure of EMPIRE STATE VI for Summer Sea Term. This year the ship will depart Fort Schuyler with 450 cadets and 85 faculty and staff on board. Typically, this celebratory event attracts anywhere from 1,200 to 1,500 visitors to campus, and this year will be no exception as it will be the final SST cruise for Empire State VI.

Campus Access
Parking on campus is very limited due to the construction of our new Marine Education and Seamanship Center and Bridge Authority repairs on the Throgs Neck Bridge. We have lost nearly 100 parking spaces; therefore, carpooling is highly encouraged.

Vehicles will not be permitted on campus before 6:00 AM on the morning of ship departure. Setting up chairs and awnings will not be permitted before this day and time and will be removed by facilities. Please follow parking directions by our University Police and Facilities personnel. Chairs and tents are not permitted in the streets or on the brick sidewalk to ensure safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Also, keep in mind that no alcohol is permitted on campus.
