The mission of the Maritime Technology Department requires that every student combines their academic studies with a practical, hands-on experience to apply classroom/laboratory knowledge with rewarding at sea experiences.

Bachelor of Science
Upon completion of a Bachelor Science Degree in Marine Operations (Engine) the student will be able to:

Pass the US Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer License

Demonstrate the ability to assume an engineer officer watch on a commercial vessel

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Marine Power Plants, Engineering principles, and management practices

Demonstrate knowledge of regulations governing the maritime industry under IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW and other governing agencies regulating maritime operations

Demonstrate discipline, leadership, and organizational skills while in the Regiment of Cadets and aboard commercial vessels
Associate Degree in Applied Science Maritime Technology dEck
Upon completion of an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Maritime Technology Deck the student will be able to:

Demonstrate the technical competences and knowledge required of a deck officer in navigation, stability, cargo, safety, emergency and vessel management skills and procedures

Pass USCG Deck License exam within 90-days after approval to test

Demonstrate the competencies required for initial employment in maritime industry

Demonstrate discipline, leadership, and organizational skills while in the Regimental of Cadets and aboard commercial vessels
Associate Degree in Applied Science Maritime Technology Engine
Upon completion of an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Maritime Technology Engine the student will be able to:

Demonstrate the technical competences and knowledge required of an Engine officer in the safe operation, management and maintenance of marine propulsion plants and other ship systems

Pass USCG Engine License exam within 90-days after approval to test
