Replace the Empire State VI

Help us replace the Empire State VI

Early this spring, the U.S. Navy League once again partnered with the state maritime academies to host another letter-writing campaign urging the nation's members of Congress to sign a letter to the chairman and ranking member of the Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee in the House of Representatives.

In just two days, nearly 6,000 people wrote to their elected officials asking them to support funding for the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel program. As a result, 55 members of Congress signed onto the letter to the House appropriations committee.

There is a great deal of work going into securing replacement training vessels for all of the maritime academies. The effort can seem daunting at times, but it is encouraging to see so much support among our friends and the larger community. Together, we are doing all we can to secure the future of the U.S. merchant marine.
